VelaShape® is a non-invasive body contouring treatment for circumferential and cellulite reduction. VelaShape enables you to safely achieve a toned, contoured and well shaped body. VelaShape provides dramatic results without downtime or significant discomfort.
Which areas can be treated with VelaShape?
Treatment areas consist of: neck (under chin), arms, thighs, buttocks, flank and abdomen. Most patients see gradual and cumulative results throughout the treatment regime.
Is VelaShape treatment right for me?
VelaShape is not a weight loss treatment. VelaShape uses a combination of technologies to contour your body, reducing the trouble spots that diet and exercise can’t reach. If the treatment is for cellulite, the ideal VelaShape patient is someone with a BMI (Body Mass Index) of less than 30, who falls under The Nurnberger-Muller Cellulite Classification Stage 1 and 2.
The Nurnberger-Muller Cellulite Classification Scale
STAGE 1- NO dimpling while the patient is standing or lying down, but the pinch test reveals the "orange peel" appearance.
STAGE 2 - "Orange peel" dimpling appears spontaneously when standing up, but NOT when lying down.
STAGE 3 - "Orange peel" dimpling appears spontaneously both when standing up AND lying down.
What VelaShape does?
VelaShape technology combines infrared light, bi-polar radio frequency energy and vacuum, which cause deep heating of the fat cells, their surrounding connective tissue and the underlying dermal collagen fibers. This type of efficient heating and vacuum stimulates the growth of new and better collagen and elastin which results in localized reduction in skin laxity, body volume and an overall improvement in skin structure and texture.
What do I expect from VelaShape treatments?
Gradual smoothing of skin's surface with a noticeable reduction in cellulite
Circumferential reduction, with noticeable reshaping of the treated area
What is the VelaShape procedure like?
Most find VelaShape comfortable and describe the treatment as feeling like a warm deep-tissue massage. The treatment parameters are easily adjusted to ensure a comfortable treatment experience. It is normal to experience a warm sensation for a few hours after your treatment. Some patients report a pinkish appearance at the treatment area that may last a few hours post treatment, and skin may appear pink for several hours.
Pregnant or planning to be pregnant– generally mothers can safely start treatment 6 weeks after childbirth unless breastfeeding.
Pacemaker, Internal Defibrillator or Severe Cardiac Disorders– although no known studies have proven any real hazard, there’s not enough evidence to prove its safety either.
Diabetes– the body’s inability or lowered ability to regulate blood sugar and fat levels can significantly hinder the proper removal of fat cell contents from the lymphatic system, thus lowering the overall effectiveness of the treatments.
Thyroid problems– thyroid regulates overall metabolism of the body, thus it can deter the proper disposal of fat contents from the body, and hence also lower the overall effectiveness of the treatments.
Current or history of skin cancer or pre-malignant moles– In order to avoid and prevent any further irritation to these conditions treatment of body areas with these conditions should not be preformed. We recommend you talk with your physician before committing to any treatment.
Any active skin conditions– It is best to schedule treatment when any skin conditions in treatment areas such as sores, psoriasis, eczema, herpes and rash are no longer active to avoid and prevent any further irritation of skin.
Superficial metal or other implants– In order to avoid any disturbance to the superficial metal or implant that is present in treatment areas we recommend you talk with your physician before committing to any treatment.
Tattoos– Areas with tattoos should not be used with VelaShape or VaserShape.
Alcohol and Caffeine– These substances will slow down lymphatic drainage of fatty acids and toxin. For best results, please try to avoid or reduce your intake of products that contain them during the course of treatment.
Customers who are on a wide range of medications, or have any other types of metabolic problems, should consult their physicians prior to any treatments.
